BOTANICAL & FINE ART
Clare is a professional Interior Designer and worked for many years as a Senior Designer for a contemporary furniture design company in Edinburgh before concentrating fully on her art. Her highly realistic and vibrant pieces are hugely influenced by her love of contemporary and historical design.
Drawing and painting has always been a passion for Clare. Through her love and affinity of the Natural and Classical Art world she illustrates their beguiling beauty and fascination in extraordinary detail. Exploring subjects we normally take for granted, she compels us to re-examine what we perceive as ordinary, focusing our attention on their extraordinary qualities in a powerful and captivating way.
Using traditional painting methods combined with contemporary graphic design techniques, as well as heightened realism, her work has an immediacy and dramatic quality which is so compelling. Constantly exploring new and innovative ways of working, Clare has more recently started working on Dibond Aluminium panels which allows her work to be hung unframed adding to the overall contemporary quality of her paintings.
Some of her work is owned by the RHS with several pieces held in the RHS Lindley Library Collection and the Hunt Institute in Pittsburgh USA as well as in private collections in the UK and USA.
